Alexander Matos(I)

Alexander Matos is an actor, multi-instrumentalist, and creator born and based in Los Angeles. Raised in LA from the age of six, Alexander has always had a lifelong investment in being an actor and artist, and believes art is a catalyst for cultural insight. Many of his most cherished moments and lasting cultural influences come from his early childhood in Brazil, overflowing with music, color, dance, and a deep immersion in the jungle and natural landscape. His early exposure to acting came from his father, who instilled in him a love for foreign cinema and for vibrant, authentic storytelling. Alexander also identifies as a Third Culture Kid (TCK) and is grateful for the intersectional perspective and global mindset his mixed heritage has brought him (Brazilian, Puerto-Rican, and Italian, amongst many others, with triple citizenship in the US, Brazil and Italy). He holds an M.F.A. in Acting from Brown University/Trinity Rep and a B.A. in Music with Honors from UC Berkeley, where he focused on Ethnomusicology and Composition, and Minored in Theater and Performance Studies.
