1st Place winner in Video Production at ACTE's regional and state competitions in 2012 for the short film "Time Machine" Based in the state of Alabama, Josh Thompson began his first steps into filmmaking in 2011 with the founding of Josh Thompson Productions and the creation of his first short film, "Time Machine". He has since created several other small projects, and has worked with other local up-and-coming filmmakers, most notably Jordan Hunter, a prop maker and actor, and Aaron Bryant, another director who shares a similar vision.
With Aaron he runs a Short Film/Gaming Channel called Loading.
Aside from films, Josh Thompson has worked in several types of media. He's directed concerts, worked as a grip on film sets, and in 2013 became the audio technician for the Prime Time News on WEAC - TV24, a local News Station based in Oxford, Alabama. In 2014, he was the Show Director for a local shopping show, Shop24, that airs on TV24. He also works as a camera operator for Jacksonville State University Television Services, and has worked as a grip in the 2013 NCAA March Madness Final Four Tournament.
As a side job, Josh Thompson is involved with the JSU Film Club and JSU Film Workforce in which he works as the Chief Editor and Visual Effects Artist.
Josh is in the very early stages of development in a short he calls "Planetside".
