Drum & Lace, aka Sofia degli Alessandri-Hultquist, is an Italian composer and performer that creates music for film and media. Raised in Florence, Italy, she received a degree in Film Scoring & Composition from Berklee College of Music as well as a Master's degree in Music Technology from New York University.

Drum & Lace's music is inspired by the juxtaposition of organic sounds, often sampled and manipulated, melded together with lush layers of synths, voice and electronics to create densely layered and textural music, greatly drawing from film music, music concrete and modern electronica.

Her composition work includes writing for various mediums, among them film, TV, dance, theater, fashion and advertising.

Her feature-length film scoring credits include fashion documentary HBO documentary 'At The Heart of Gold' (dir Erin Lee Carr) and Thriller/Noir 'Deadly Illusions' (dir Anna Elizabeth James) as well as upcoming film 'Night Teeth' (Dir Adam Randall / Netflix). Television credits include AppleTV+ Original Series 'Dickinson' (created by Alena Smith) and NBC's 'Good Girls' (created by Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs) season 3 and 4.

Her work in advertising can be heard in campaigns by NARS, Always, Netflix, Girls Who Code, Squarespace and ongoing collaborations in dance and theater include work with theatre production company Saudade Theatre and dance company Heidi Duckler.

Often including elements of spatial audio and sound installation, some notable performances include The Echo Society VI : Family (Los Angeles, CA), the Digital Discovery Festival for National Sawdust (New York, NY), a quadraphonic interactive performance at the LA Central Library in DTLA with Suzanne Ciani (Los Angeles, CA) and Moogfest 2019 (Durham, NC).
