Esma Saric is a Bosnian film director based in Montenegro and Bosnia. She was born in Capljina, Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1993. She spent most of her life in capital Sarajevo, where she got her BA in Film and TV directing in 2015 as an honor student.

She made and participated in video projects in Italy, Croatia, Qatar, Austria and Montenegro.

2018. She enrolled in Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo to obtain masters degree in journalism. Her publications about culture and heritage have been published on multiple online platforms. She is a part of Makanje, first youth news portal in Montenegro where she publishes articles about movies, media and Bosnia culture. Her film articles have been published in magazines in Croatia, Montenegro and USA. She is actively writing aphorisms and participated at Regional Cultural dialogue conference in 2021.

Her short films Ostrac (2013), Time (2014), What will be will be (2015) are student projects where she explored different social topics such as poverty, affirmation and stigmas. In 2020. she obtained an MBA degree in Film and TV directing at Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Montenegro with her short horror film Ella (2021) where she explored child abuse situation from victims perspective. Her movies enjoyed world-wide festival selections.

She is a member of filmmakers without borders, where she taught youth from undeveloped countries basic film knowledge. She also is running a film blog and participating in online debates about movie industries in Balkans.

In 2020. she enrolled at FDU in Montenegro as the first generation of MA students. She is developing her feature film project during her studies.
