Matt Thornton is a three-time Emmy nominated sports journalist, actor, writer, voice actor, and producer. He is the TV broadcast Play by Play and sometimes Color Commentator for the 2016-2022 Dallas Sidekicks professional soccer team seasons airing on TXA21 Dallas, Texas. Matt is also the host and co-creator of Elite Aficionados and previously served as the co-host of the Drew Pearson Live television and radio show. He is the Sports Editor for the Dallas Entertainment Journal, and he was the host/creator of the radio show Cross Sports Talk. Matt covers the NFL Dallas Cowboys, NBA Dallas Mavericks, MLB Texas Rangers, NHL Dallas Stars, MLS FC Dallas, MASL Dallas Sidekicks, and Southern Methodist University Athletics. He was born and raised in Dallas, Texas and is a member of the Professional Football Writers Association (PFWA), Professional Basketball Writers Association (PBWA), and the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. At the age of four, his Grandpa Joe took him to his first Dallas Cowboys game and Matt has followed the National Football League and sports ever since.
