Johan Van Schaeren is a producer, director and writer based in Leuven, Belgium. He was active as TV-maker, freelance journalist, concept developer and event organiser. Van Schaeren is mainly active in the field of documentary film, with a focus on historical archive films. Johan van Schaeren is also founder and general coordinator of the Int. Documentary Film festival DOCVILLE, the Int. Short Film festival Leuven, Cinema ZED and filmdistributor Dalton Distribution.
