Sara Robin is a German filmmaker based in Brooklyn, NY. Her work explores imagining humane futures through a female lens, and spans narrative, experimental, and documentary films.
Sara is the winner of the 2023 Hollyshorts screenwriting contest with her script Switch about virtual relationships. She is in production on Your Attention Please, a feature documentary exploring how we can overcome the addictive pull of the attention economy.
Her 2020 short film about an undocumented teen "Cranberry Nights", starring Inde Navarrette (13 Reasons Why, Superman & Lois) has screened in over a dozen festivals around the world, including Holly Shorts and SCAD Savannah, and received awards for best directing and best film.
Sara's coming-of-age feature script "Here To Stay", written together with Shirley Miller, y placed at the top 5% of the Blacklist, and top 1% of Coverfly, and was the winner of the 2021 New England Film Fellowship at Stowe Story Labs.
Alongside her independent work, Sara has created commercial content for a variety of high-profile clients including Nike, Jordan, and Google. She works as a freelance director and producer in Brooklyn, and is represented by Sweet Rickey.
