Benjamin Sutherland(II)

Benjamin Sutherland is an accomplished stage and screen actor based in Toronto, hailing from Vancouver Island. You can catch Benjamin recurring on OWN's new series THE KINGS OF NAPA premiering in January 2022, and on Hulu's Y: THE LAST MAN. Also premiering in 2022, Benjamin joins the lead cast of Epix's new series, BILLY THE KID. Benjamin made his Toronto International Film Festival debut in 2021, in Blaine Thurier's Feature KICKING BLOOD. His path to acting began after he sustained a baseball injury that prematurely ended his goal of a professional athletic contract. He then turned to carpentry, working as a carpenter's apprentice during the day and an actor in the evenings at a local community theatre. Acting became his professional focus after he was offered a coveted position in Canada's prestigious National Theatre School's acting program. That summer, he would also study at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in the UK. The theatre is Benjamin's first love and it has taken him to stages across Canada, with performances of pivotal roles in the Shakespearean cannon including Richard the III, Prince Hal and Claudius. Television credits include; Recurring on both CBC's Kim's Convenience, and ABC's Shadowhunters, and Guest Starring on CBC's Hudson and Rex and Saving Hope (CTV) among others. Film roles include: Dark Web Cicada 3301 (Lionsgate), Left for Dead: The Ashley Reeves Story (Cineflix), Designed with Love (Reel One) and Love Locks (Hallmark). Benjamin is also an experienced motion capture performer, lending his body and voice to video games such as Ubisoft's Watch Dogs: Legion. Benjamin's passions extend to woodworking and screenwriting.
