Melanie Aronson was born in Lincoln, Massachusetts and received a BA in Anthropology from Barnard College, Columbia University in 2007 and an MFA in Social Documentary Film from the School of Visual Arts in 2014. She moved to Sweden on a Fulbright grant in 2014 and continues to live in Malmö where she runs a production company called Eyeing the World.
