Robert "Sully" Sullivan is a noted talk show host who is best known for two programs in the "Business Meets Lifestyle" space: The Big Biz Show and Sully's Biz Brew. He is also a business news commentator, television/radio studio owner, and singer/songwriter with a background in capital formation and investment consulting. In his personal life, he is the father of two college-age daughters who have inspired him to develop an educational investment curriculum targeted at the millennial audience.
The Big Biz Show (on air since 1996) is a 20-year running nationally-syndicated television program that airs weekdays on the Biz Television Network. The show is simulcast on radio on the iHeart Media Radio Stations, BizTalk Radio Network and Armed Forces Radio Network in 175 countries and "all the ships at sea." The show focuses on new and emerging businesses, entertainment, and current financial events. Sully's Biz Brew, which airs on the Youtoo America Television Network, is a more laid-back treatment of the day's trending business news.
In addition to his television and radio programs, Sully provides a daily two-minute "Business and Lifestyle" report called "Sully's Biz Bite" to radio stations nationwide and has been a frequent contributor to FOX Business and MSNBC. He has covered business and political topics on-air and on other media outlets such as Inc.com, Forbes.com and WSJ Radio.
Prior to his television and radio career, Sully began his business experience as the head of a number of investment banking firms. As Managing Director and CEO of The Compass Point Group, Inc., he worked in capital formation and banking for publicly traded and privately held companies and also assisted at-risk families. In 1995 the company joint-ventured and acquired Charterbridge Financial Group, Inc., an investment banking consulting firm, where Sully took on the positions of Chairman and CEO. The new company oversaw and crafted business plans, investment marketing memorandums and private placements. Overall, Sully has assisted more than 70 companies in becoming publicly traded and has helped them raise close to $250 million in investment capital.
More recently, Sully has continued his focus in investment with the completion of the investment thesis for Motion Venture Fund, a new hedge fund launching in the Sports, Action and Leisure (SAL) space. The company will invest in and mentor SAL companies in San Diego and Orange Counties.
Along with his on-air work, Sully owns and operates Jump Television Studios, LLC in San Diego, CA. He built his first television/radio studios in 2006 as a site from which to produce and broadcast his national shows. Jump has since grown into a production and full-service television and radio studio producing television programming for networks such as The Blaze Network, Biz Television Network, TIVO and Youtoo America Television Network. Jump Television Studios, LLC also produces material in the corporate video and television commercial fields.
Sully is also a singer/songwriter and the head of the group Sully and the Blue Eyed Soul Band. The group regularly performs around Southern California, and in 2017 Sully began recording an album of original and cover material with Grammy Award Producer Marcel East.
