Thales Banzai
- Producer
- Director
- Editor
Thales Banzai started making VHS short films in 1999 when he was 9 years old in a small town south of Brazil, and with 15yo, he founded his production company, Banzai Studio. He has already screened his films in different projects among celebrated Brazilian festivals, such as Festival do Rio, Curta Cinema, Festival do Minuto, Curta-8, and the global streaming channel Nowness.
Over the years, Photography, something that started as a hobby, took more importance for Thales. He illustrated a book of poems from a Brazilian writer, Pamela Araujo, and created his personal projects, where he uses his background in films and documentaries to bring short stories to life through non-linear photographic narratives.
He lives between São Paulo/Brazil and Los Angeles/USA, where he works directing and producing films, developing long-format fiction projects, and collaborating with other writers and directors.
