Simone Cilio
Simone Cilio is a film composer, based Italy. Simone discovered a passion for music at a young age, and began playing the drums at the age of 6. Over the years, he played in three different bands, honing his skills as a drummer and developing a deep appreciation for a wide range of musical styles. As he grew older, he found himself drawn to the world of film and the power of music to enhance the storytelling experience. He decided to combine his two passions, and in 2013, he embarked on a career as a film composer. Skilled in playing piano, guitar, drums, bass and percussions he started working on his first instrumental album "Accarezza il vento". This opens a new phase in which Simone started to orchestrate his works and study every aspect of film music and cinema. In December 2015 he worked on the score for the feature film Badsville, directed by April Mullen (Legends of Tomorrow, Lethal Weapon, Wander) starring Robert Knepper, Emilio Rivera and Ian McClaren. His score for this project was nominated for Best Original Score at the Maverick Movie Awards in 2016. Simone continued to grow and he also collaborates with a creative collective based in London, called "The Herd Represented". Together, they created scores for corporate films and brands like Belmond, Roccoforte Hotels, Volvo, or Olam. In the years since, Simone has worked on over 150 projects, including feature films like Lockdown (starring Michael Paré and Bai Ling, distributed by Lionsgate), The Penthouse (starring Michael Paré and Nicholas Turturro, distributed by Lionsgate). His work has garnered critical acclaim, and in 2019 the documentary "The Last Signal" was awarded with an Emmy Award.
