Born in Latakia, Syria. He has worked for many years as a film critic for various Arab newspapers and websites and as a writer for Arab TV series, short films and theatre plays. His debut documentary Under the Sky of Damascus (2023) premiered in Berlinale 2023 and won International Competition Golden Alexander in Thessaloniki International Documentary Festival, securing its place in the selection shortlist for the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature Film.
