Andrea Boccadoro is an Italian-British composer whose work spans film, TV, and video games. Renowned for his evocative and innovative scores, Andrea recently composed the music for the French feature film After the Fire (2023), which premiered at TIFF in 2023, and the psychological horror Home Education (2023), starring Julia Ormond and Lydia Page. His latest project, Honey Bunch (2025), a Canadian feature by directors Madeleine Sims-Fewer and Dusty Mancinelli, premiered at the 75th Berlinale in 2025, further solidifying his reputation in the international film scene.
In 2021, Andrea composed the score for The Legionnaire (2021), which premiered at the 74th Locarno Film Festival, where it won the Best Emerging Director Award. That same year, he scored Amazon's exclusive series Veleno (2021), directed by Hugo Berkeley and awarded the Italian Golden Globe for Best Documentary. Andrea also composed the music for the Canadian feature Violation (2020), directed by Sims-Fewer and Mancinelli, which was nominated for five Canadian Screen Awards. His compositions have also enhanced numerous short films, including Descente (4 AM) (2021) by Mehdi Fikri, which premiered at the 78th Venice Film Festival in the prestigious Orizzonti section.
Andrea's talent has been recognized with numerous accolades: the Prix Cinézik for Scaramouche Scaramouche at the 20th Aubagne International Film Festival, the Universal Music Publishing Award for L'Interprete at the 14th Cortinametraggio Film Festival, and the Jerry Goldsmith Award for Song for Adele. His work in video games has received critical acclaim, with his score for Devolver's Card Shark earning a Music + Sound Award nomination in 2022, while his earlier project Astrologaster secured multiple G.A.N.G. award nominations and an Excellence in Audio nod at the Independent Games Festival.
Born in Rome, Andrea pursued studies in both Philosophy at Sapienza University and Classical Composition at the Luisa D'Annunzio Conservatoire in Pescara. In 2013, he relocated to London to complete an MMus in Composition for Screen at the Royal College of Music. A recipient of the Hospital Club's Music Creative residency in 2016 and a participant in Berlinale Talents in 2018, Andrea has since collaborated with numerous talents from the esteemed program.
