James D. Huss, Jr. was born on November 16, 1965 in the small Midwest town of Thayer, Kansas. The fourth child of Jim and Norma (Wilson) Huss, who emigrated in 1959 from the Czech Republic to Kansas to become wheat farmers, James was raised with memory endearing small town values he reflects within the verses. In 1980, the Huss family relocated to California and James attended Eisenhower High School in Rialto, California. When James was 21, his understudies were interrupted when he was discovered by an agency in Hollywood. The agency quickly signed him to an international modeling contract and moved him to Milan, Italy; where, he spent several years representing such esteemed designers as Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Tag Heuer, Marlboro, Guess, and Calvin Klein. James returned to the U.S. and turned his love of off-road racing into yet another career, achieving immense recognition and success; as well as many broken bones. In 2007, when his son Brock was diagnosed with Aspergers Autism; and, with his youngest son Pierce, then just two years old, James was faced with another life choice. Realizing that as a single parent, raising his two youngest sons was the most important thing in his life, James took on writing action adventure novels based loosely on his racing experience in Baja, Mexico: Crossing the Line Baja 1000; Lisboa Dakar 2008. And Prose and Poetery writing such as Temporada en el Infierno and Once white picket fences. Now living in Redlands, California, James resides with his two boys in a modest home just below the hills of Big Bear, California.
