Brenna Malloy, Student Academy Awards 2016
Long Beach, California native Brenna Malloy got her start directing television on Wolf Entertainment & NBC's Chicago Fire. She has since gone on to direct over twenty episodes of TV, including more episodes of Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, FBI, 9-1-1, and 9-1-1: Lone Star, and Law & Order: Organized Crime. Malloy graduated from the University of San Francisco with a BA in media studies and a minor in theater. She studied abroad for two terms at Drama Centre London. She then went on to earn an MFA in film production with an emphasis in directing from Chapman University. Before breaking into TV directing Brenna participated in the Ryan Murphy Television Half Initiative and the NBC Female Forward directing development program.

Rocket, her MFA thesis film about a female racing driver in the 1950's, won a Student Academy Award® in 2016 and screened in more than 40 festivals in eight countries. In 2019 she directed Born Still, an all-female western short film. Her experimental short Candy Apple Red had its world premiere at The Bentonville Film Festival in 2018. Other short films include The Birthday (2015, horror), Nisei (2015, historical-fiction), and Driven (2014, documentary). Brenna Malloy is a director with a passion for bringing female characters with depth to the screen and an affinity for directing action. She brings her unwavering commitment to excellence and an infectious sense of humor to everything she does. She is represented by Verve, The Radmin Company, and Morris Yorn.
