Born in Franche-Comté, France, Gaëtan Selle discovered his passion for storytelling early in life. At the age of 10, watching The Matrix ignited his desire to create films. He began writing and shooting amateur short films with friends, exploring the craft through hands-on experience. Over time, Gaëtan honed his skills in cinematography, editing, and post-production, which opened doors to collaborations with film production companies.
As a director, Gaëtan has created numerous short films, experimenting with a variety of genres, formats, and styles. His work has been recognised with over 10 awards and 80 nominations at film festivals.
In 2014, he relocated to London to further his filmmaking career, gaining invaluable experience working with international clients. By 2016, his journey brought him to the Southern Hemisphere, starting in New Zealand and now based in Australia.
Gaëtan is also the co-founder of The Flares, a non-profit organisation he established with Marc M. Durand. Focused on the future of humanity, The Flares produces science fiction content, including articles, short stories, YouTube videos, and podcasts. Their work aims to inspire and raise awareness on the most pressing problems of our time.
