Rachel Clugston is the daughter of Tina and Troy Clugston.Rachel Is the second oldest of four. Carolynn Kublnick (Clugston), Anthony Clugston, & Katrina Clugston. Rachel grew up in the small town of Forestville New York, current population of 686 people. She then went to college at the University at Buffalo and studied Studio Art and modeled as a hobby. Rachel moved out to California in the summer of 2012, right before she graduated college officially because her last couple of classes were online classes and she figured she could be anywhere with internet to finish school and something about California was calling her name. Rachel left the day before her birthday and drove straight through arriving the day after her birthday. "Moving to California was my birthday present to myself!" "I didn't have a real plan or a smart phone back then so my only true plan was to drive west. When I was in Colorado I bought a road map and asked the man at the gas station to show me where in California it doesn't snow. After he showed me that was where I headed. Now after being here a while I know he showed me Orange County." When she arrived not having a plan she looked up apartments for rent on CL her first day she spent hunting for a place to live and the night sleeping in her car in a bank parking lot, she then found a room for rent in the valley her second day here, moved in and found a job waitressing on her third day, then started working on her fourth! "Nothing ever goes according to plan so I like to figure it out as I go, there is more adventure in that!" A couple months after her move she had a conversation with an older man at the restaurant where she worked
Gentleman "Did you move out here to be a movie star?"
Rachel "No???? Do people do that? I moved out here to get away from the Buffalo snow."
Gentleman "Why yes, you live in LA"
Rachel "No? I live in Woodland Hills?"
Gentleman "You should look into acting before you get ugly"
This blunt honesty was just the kick in the butt she needed to do so and found it too addicting, so she quit her current job to pursue acting full time. Now as mentioned before, Rachel is from a small town, grew up without cable and never really questioned where films were made. At this point in her life she had no idea just how close she was to the entertainment capital.
When Rachel was asked "if you had to choose a movie that inspired you to act what would it be?"
She answered
""Cat's Don't Dance" have you seen it?"
"No"
Rachel- "It's an animated film about a cat who is told over and over that he can't do anything accept for meow, and all he truly wants to do is sing and dance. You see he doesn't let what people say he can or can't do discourage him. It's so inspirational and beautiful."
