Mateo Vengoechea
Born in Bogota, Colombia; Mateo Vengoechea is known for capturing reality in both scripted and documentary formats. His directing style is based on Judith Weston's teachings and his knack for documentaries comes from excelling as an interviewer at a young age. His directing career began in 2010 when he was chosen to be a writer/director by his university's school and faculty after submitting an original script for consideration.

His independent documentary "Art Vessel" was purchased by PBS and subsequently won a Regional Suncoast Emmy. This achievement was accomplished meanwhile he was Lead Associate Producer at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, where he won two National Emmys for the broadcasts of the 2016 Rio Olympics and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He later left the sports department after five years to become part of the writing team for Telemundo Studios' original series "False Identity".

Mateo now resides in New York after 11 years in Miami, working as a producer for "Dateline" in 30 Rock as he oversees the distribution strategy for his latest film alongside 3x NBA champion Udonis Haslem, "The Asylum."
