Matvey Stavitsky

Matvey Stavitsky is a cinematographer/director of photography, born and raised in Kaliningrad, Russia. He studied marketing in Kaliningrad State University but after graduating he pivoted to pursue a career in film industry. Matvey's lifelong love for cinema and photography combined as he moved to Canada to study film. In 2012 he graduated from Toronto Film School and worked few years freelance in Canada. In 2016 Matvey moved to Moscow where he shot his first feature films, TV series and managed to establish himself as one of the most promising young cinematographers in Russia. As of 2023 Matvey is based in Berlin, Germany
