James Arden is an emerging British writer/director based in London.
His debut short, Leopard, starred Elisha Applebaum (Netflix's Fate: The Winx Saga) and screened at festivals worldwide before winning several awards including a British Short Film Award.
James' second short film, Sitter, began its festival run by winning the Grand Prize at the BAFTA/Oscar-qualifying Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival and picked up up multiple additional awards including a Kinsale Gold Shark.
James' work has also extended to television, where he has directed 2nd Unit for Criminal Record on Apple TV.
In 2025, James wrote and directed his third short, Copperbottom, starring Jay Simpson (Black Mirror, Chernobyl, Blitz). He is also writing two feature films.
