Alin Wishka is an actor from the Netherlands. He is known for his co-starring role in the feature film DIE MIDDAG (2023), that is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. He has a recurring role in the very first CANAL+ Original from the Netherlands, the crime series EEN VAN ONS (2024), that was nominated for a Gouden Kalf (the Dutch Oscars) and is now streaming on CANAL+. He recently wrapped a supporting role in the upcoming feature film IEDEREEN IS VAN DE WERELD, that will be in cinemas in 2025.
Furthermore he is best known for his lead antagonist role as 'Santos', a sociopath cyber hacker in the 7th season of the hit crime TV series MOORDVROUW (2018). He also played a supporting role as an interpreter for the Dutch military forces, in the international war movie KAMP HOLLAND (2016). Other special mentions include his lead roles in the Cannes Court Métrage award winning short film POP! (2015) and the short film VLUCHTELING (2012). The latter earned him a best-actor nomination.
DIE MIDDAG (2023), in which he co-starred as an Iranian-Dutch refugee at the end of his ropes, officially premiered at International Film Festival Rotterdam and was selected at Sydney Film Festival, Movies That Matter Film Festival, Nederlands Film Festival and screened at 34 cinemas across the Netherlands in 2023.
Brief background:
Alin Wishka emigrated with his family at the age of 9 from Iran to The Netherlands. He graduated for his Bachelor's in Commercial Economics at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences in 2005 and for his Masters in Film & Media (Communication Science) at University of Amsterdam in 2009. Since his childhood he was fond of the performing arts and at the age of twelve he caught the acting bug when he performed a dual-part as a nosy journalist and an acrobat in an elementary school play.
Next to his university studies, he joined acting intensives at The Stella Adler Studio of Acting in New York, The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in Los Angeles and received acting training at different theatre institutions in Amsterdam, in disciplines such as Stanislavski, Method Acting, Theatre Acting, Improvisation and Film Acting.
By now he has more than a decade of experience in film, television, theatre and commercials. Besides acting he also enjoys working behind the camera, telling stories in fiction.
