‘Bachelorette’ Recap: Hometown Dates Leave Desiree Hartsock Feeling Torn

It’s time for hometown dates! Desiree gets serenaded in Texas, drinks white wine in Arizona, plays baseball in Washington and finally goes canoeing in Utah. Plus, Des gets her bum felt by Chris’ dad.

Desiree Hartsock visited the hometowns of her final four guys on the July 15 episode of The Bachelorette, and there were tears, make outs and the return of Des’s famous brother Nate. Des bonded with Brooks‘ mom, got felt up by Chris‘ dad, got serenaded by Zak‘s family and made memories with Drew. After flying across the country, Des had to make a seriously hard decision and send one guy home.

Zak

In Texas, Des bonds with Zak’s hot sister and learns more about his youth.

Zak’s whole family sing a song for Desiree, and she chokes up. I thought she was crying because it was so cheesy, but she said it touched her heart.

Desiree Hartsock on The Bachelorette:
It's not one of the 25 contestants people are talking about leading up to The Bachelorette's season nine premiere on May 27, it's Desiree Hartsock's brother, Nate! 8 pm Undercover Boss (CBS) | Tilted Kilt boss Ron Lynch goes undercover at his chain of Hooters-meets-Scotland pubs — though presumably not in one of the waitresses’ trademark outfits.

'Bachelorette''s Charlie Saves Dirt for 'Tell All'

Charlie Grogan restrained himself on Thursday when speaking to ETonline, careful not to label any specific people as villains on The Bachelorette.

"When the Men Tell All episode comes out, I'll point fingers. I don't want to name names," he hinted at what's really on his mind. "It was a shocker to me getting sent home because some of the guys that were left, I didn't feel were as suitable for her as I could have been." When it comes down to Emily Maynard choosing her #1 leading man, Charlie thinks Sean Lowe is "a great guy" for the job.

Though not documented comprehensively in the edit of the show that aired, Charlie said he and Emily had sufficient time together, but wishes he had seized the opportunities to discuss "more personal things." Implementing his strategy to allow their relationship to progress slowly, Charlie said, "Eventually

Bachelorette Breakdown: The Week's Biggest Whoa!-ments

Anyone else still feeling the awkward tension from this week's episode of The Bachelorette? Between the confrontations and the two-on-one date, even I want to crawl into a cave and cry, except I'm afraid I'll find castoff Nate crying and pronouncing "quinoa" incorrectly. I thought Bermuda was supposed to be a happy place! Did The Beach Boys lie to me? Let's discuss. Let's recount the good times and especially the bad times from this week's episode when you read more. Everyone is stoked when Chris Harrison tells them they are leaving Charlotte forever and headed to Bermuda. They knew they packed their board shorts for something! The excitement is short-lived. Once they are in Bermuda, they realize they are relegated to staying in the same living room 24/7, and the Lord of the Flies confrontations begin. Despite the fact that Doug seems like "the perfect man," no one is really buying it,

The Bachelorette: Emily Maynard Blogs About Her Bermuda Dates

We're off to Bermuda, and I couldn't be more excited! I had no idea it was so close to North Carolina and can't believe how easy it was to get there. I don't know who was more excited on the plane - Ricki or me. Having her travel with me during my time on The Bachelorette was such a blessing for us both, and I'm so happy I got to bring her along! My week of dates in Bermuda started off with Doug. I guess it's the "curse" of getting the first impression rose, but I felt awful because I

The Bachelorette Review: America's Most Hated

  • TVfanatic
Natalie Getz is a former Bachelor hopeful and the first-ever winner of Bachelor Pad.

In reviewing The Bachelorette for TV Fanatic this season, she brings her unique experience of having been through this insanity, as well as her spot-on commentary on the men seeking Emily Maynard's heart.

Was this week any better? Read on for Natalie's take on Episode 4 ...

------------------------------------------

Ryan is TV's most hated man right now, that's for sure.

On top of all the nasty remarks he had to say, the worst was this: "Emily, you have millions of people watching you and little girls that look up to you as a role model and your off making out with Arie."

"This doesn't make you look good. You need to watch yourself."

He is so insanely jealous that he is the typical guy that puts down his girl to get what he wants. This is a sick,

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelorette' episode 4

Chris Harrison blogs 'The Bachelorette' episode 4
It was a bittersweet week for Emily and the rest of us as we left the friendly confines of Charlotte, North Carolina and started our trip around the world. I can’t thank the folks of Charlotte enough for rolling out the red carpet and showing us such genuine hospitality. On behalf of the creator of the show, Mike Fleiss, I’d like to thank Bojangles for all the chicken. A final personal note from Charlotte, I’d like to throw a little love out to Bill Spoon’s BBQ for some of the best pulled pork I’ve ever had.

'The Bachelorette': Ryan Bowers will never be The Bachelor

Chris Harrison shows up at the top of the hour on "The Bachelorette," sporting some kicky purple cuffs, to inform the guys that there are three dates, including the dreaded two-on-one, and that they are headed to Bermuda! Wooooo!

Emily is already there, having a blast with Ricki. It's super cool she gets to travel along, that's a great experience for her. As long as she doesn't know her mom's off smooching 12 different guys every night. Heh.

The guys apparently rode there in a scooter gang, which is one of the funniest visuals the show has ever done. Alejandro calls the suite breathtaking and that might be the first words we've heard him say on camera since he introduced himself to Emily. Is he going to be a factor this episode?

Doug's Date

Before the date, Doug is kind of freaking out a bit and dropping f-bombs left and right,

Maynard's Search for Love Continues in Bermuda

Maynard's Search for Love Continues in Bermuda
Emily Maynard and her thirteen remaining suitors left Charlotte, North Carolina forever and hit the sandy shores of Bermuda to begin the international leg of Emily's quest to find her perfect suitor.

To begin, Doug is granted his very first one-on-one date, a shopping excursion through the streets of St. George with Emily, wherein the single parents bonded over their little ones. Midway through, Emily declared Doug and his "perfect answers" to be a bit too good to be true, drawing comparisons to her ill-fated former flame, Brad Womack. When grilled about his possible imperfections, her date supplied her with somewhat unsatisfactory answers, but when the tables were turned and she was forced to supply her own faults, Emily realized her mistake in putting her date on the spot and apologized. The date ended on a happy note with Emily sending a sweet postcard to Doug's son Austin, thanking him for

Tasha Gordon-Solmon: The Bachelorette Week 2 Recap: I'd Rather Have Miss Piggy as My Mom
Emily's motherhood was on full display this week. When she wasn't hugging a smiling Ricki, she was baking cookies, hanging out with soccer moms, or talking about kids.

She was also busy trying waaaaaay too hard with the Potential Future Husbands. Even as she kicked them off, she continued to lay on the compliments. Emily: they have to be there and hit on you. They are contractually obligated. Why are you embarrassing yourself and me, because I have to watch and be embarrassed on behalf of all women in the universe?

In more important news, Prettiest Potential Future Husband Michael wore his shiny flowing locks in no less than four hairstyles this week. He started the episode with it half up, like a princess. For more on his hairstyles and Emily's quest, ready on.

1-on-1 Date: Ryan

'The Bachelorette' Recap: All's Fair in Love and Muppets

  • TVology
It’s numbingly odd, the ways in which Emily Maynard—who’s done this sort of thing before—naively treats The Bachelorette, as if this is some sort of courting that every ugly person gets to do, too. It’s a nice thought, for her to believe that these 25 guys are each attracted to her and would really like a piece of her heart, but that’s ignoring the real situation here, the one that Ryan stopped just short of blatantly screaming to Emily on the season’s first solo date: if you put 25 guys in one room to compete for a girl, it does not matter one single fuck who the girl is. At all. You could put 25 guys in one room and tell them to compete for a pile of dog shit and you’ve still got a battle on your hands. No one cares about the object
