Aaron Sarlo was born in Evanston, Illinois. He migrated to Little Rock, Arkansas at the age of eleven. In his early twenties, he founded the seminal indie rock band, Techno Squid Eats Parliament. The band was signed to Ardent Records, and Sarlo toured North America, opened for Alex Chilton, Cracker, Bare Naked Ladies, appeared on MTV and MTV Canada, and have been cited as an influence for many musicians. In 2000, Aaron Sarlo directed the John Waters-inspired, underground short film, Kitty's Very Special Day. In 2009, Sarlo returned to music, founding powerhouse Gulch Rock band, The Dangerous Idiots. In 2012, because of this extensive work in the music industry, Sarlo was hired by filmmaker, Christy Ward, as sound engineer for her debut film, Tree. In 2013, Sarlo directed his first feature concert film, The Dangerous Idiots Live at the Legendary White Water Tavern. The film was released on DVD video July, 2016.
Aaron Sarlo lives in Little Rock with his wife, Sarah, and their son. The Dangerous Idiots releases records and tours the American south regularly. Sarlo also performs stand up comedy around the south.
