Eric W. Thompson, Esq. founded his own law firm, the Law Offices of
Eric W. Thompson P.C., in January of 2012. The firm is located in
Hollywood, California. The firm specializes in production legal work
for both film and television and talent representation of directors,
writers and producers.
Prior to founding the law firm, Eric served as the Vice President for Twentieth Century Fox Film Corporation in Los Angeles, California. In his capacity at Fox, Eric worked on numerous big budget feature films including Three Stooges, The Watch, The Internship, Love and Other Drugs, Conviction, Water for Elephants, Night at the Museum, X-Men, The Day the Earth Stood Still, All About Steve, X-Files 2, Big Momma's House 2, and Date Night as well as numerous direct-to-video productions including Mirrors 2, Street Kings 2, Wrong Turn 2, 3, 4 and 5, and Marley and Me 2. Since founding the new firm, Eric has worked on such independent films as Black Rock, The Collection, Killer Joe, The Occult, Therese Raquin, and Disconnect. While at Fox, Eric represented the studio in actor negotiations with such notable actors as Tom Cruise, Reese Witherspoon, Robert Pattinson, Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson, Jonah Hill, Hilary Swank, Cameron Diaz, Anne Hathaway, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Hugh Jackman, Keanu Reeves, Sandra Bullock, Steve Carell, Tina Fey, Jennifer Connelly, Juliette Lewis, Sam Rockwell and Halle Berry.
Eric was raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana. He attended Tulane University as an undergraduate where he received a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Southwestern University School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate. Eric is licensed to practice law in California, Florida and Washington D.C. Eric serves on the Tulane University Dean's Advisory Board and is member of the National Board of Directors of the National Lung Cancer Partnership.
