Kerry Mondragon is an American writer-director known for Tyger Tyger (2021) and Wetiko (2024). His debut feature, Tyger Tyger - a pandemic thriller shot entirely on location in Slab City- was written and filmed a year before Covid-19 and received critical attention for its prescience and experimental style. It was named one of Seventeen Magazine's "25 Best Movies of 2021." His follow-up, Wetiko, premiered at the Stockholm International Film Festival and was acquired by boutique distributor Dekanalog. A former assistant to Spike Lee, Mondragon's films are known for their surrealist visuals, nontraditional casting, and emotionally raw storytelling. He often draws on his multicultural upbringing between the Mexican desert and Northern California to explore themes of identity, trauma, addiction, and spiritual transformation.
