Leah Solmaz is an actress, model, filmmaker and writer from the West Midlands, England.

Leah's love for film and storytelling started when she was young. She developed a fascination with a number of films in her youth and took an interest in consuming the "Making Of" documentary segments that accompanied the films she watched as well as "Inside The Actor's Studio".

The trigger to pursue film came after watching the 1999 movie "Bowfinger", with Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy, which tells the comical story of a group of indie filmmakers trying to make a film with no budget. It was after watching this at age fourteen that Leah decided she wanted to pursue film as a career and had a passion to take up screenwriting in particular.

A chance conversation with a family friend convinced Leah to take up acting. She began her acting journey in 2010 after completing a summer course with the Birmingham Theatre School and landed her first role in a short film soon after finishing the course.

In 2018, Leah was selected to attend an acting workshop with "Topboy" and "Bulletproof" actor Ashley Walters and was further invited to attend Walters' Kingdom Drama School's first Blueprint Sessions with "Get Out" actor Daniel Kaluuya. After hearing of Daniel's journey into acting and of how he created his own work when he couldn't find roles, Leah was inspired to take a step into producing.

In April 2019, Leah set up her production identity, Luna Kaynak Productions.

Leah has since worked on a number of short films and feature films, both in front of and behind the camera. She continuously strives to learn more and to improve in all areas of film.

Aside from film, Leah published her debut novel, "Nexus: Book One", a dark-fantasy, adventure in March 2020.
