Box Office: ‘Insidious: The Last Key’ Unlocks $2 Million on Thursday Night
Universal’s “Insidious: The Last Key” launched with a solid $2 million at 2,220 North American sites on Thursday night.

The fourth film in the “Insidious” franchise is expanding to 3,116 domestic locations on Friday, with tracking indicating a weekend opening in the $17 million to $20 million range. The strongest interest is coming from younger audiences — particularly women.

“Insidious: The Last Key” is pegged to finish third behind the fourth weekend of Disney’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and the third frame of Sony’s “Jumanji,” which will probably be battling for the top spot with around $25 million to $30 million each. “The Last Jedi” has hauled $544.6 million in North America in its first 20 days — becoming the sixth-largest all-time domestic grosser — while “Jumanji” has totaled $202.4 million in 13 days.

Fox’s third weekend of “The Greatest Showman” will likely come in fourth with around $11 million, followed by Universal’s third frame of “Pitch Perfect 3.” Additionally, STXfilms

Movie Review – Insidious: The Last Key (2018)

Insidious: The Last Key, 2018.

Directed by Adam Robitel.

Starring Lin Shaye, Angus Sampson, Leigh Whannell, Josh Stewart, Caitlin Gerard, Kirk Acevedo, Javier Botet, Bruce Davison, Spencer Locke, Tessa Ferrer, Ava Kolker, Hana Hayes, Marcus Henderson, Rose Byrne, and Patrick Wilson.

Synopsis:

Parapsychologist Dr. Elise Rainier faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet – in her own family home.

At this point, all I remember about the Insidious franchise are two things: how overrated they are overusing a demon that resembles Darth Maul’s mentally challenged relative as the main source for ineffective scares, and Lin Shaye’s elderly ghostbusting, one-liner wisecracking, courageous Dr. Elise Rainier typically stealing the show from Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne. Up until Insidious: The Last Key none of the installments has been outright terrible, but writer (and characters creator) Leigh Whannell (most known for collaborating with director James Wan on the first two entries and

Box Office: ‘Insidious: The Last Key’ Won’t Be Able to Haunt ‘The Last Jedi,’ ‘Jumanji’

Box Office: ‘Insidious: The Last Key’ Won’t Be Able to Haunt ‘The Last Jedi,’ ‘Jumanji’
The first weekend of 2018 will see one new wide release in North America with Universal’s “Insidious: The Last Key” challenging potent holdovers “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.”

The fourth film in the “Insidious” franchise is the studio’s latest collaboration with Blumhouse Productions, which delivered a trio of low-cost horror hits last year with “Split,” “Get Out,” and “Happy Death Day.” “Insidious: The Last Key” will launch on Friday at about 3,000 domestic locations with tracking indicating an opening in the $15 million to $18 million range, with younger audiences — particularly women — showing the strongest interest in the film.

That’s likely to place “The Last Key” in third behind the fourth weekend of Disney’s “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” and the third weekend of Sony’s “Jumanji,” which will probably be battling for first with around $28 million to $30 million each. “The Last Jedi” has grossed $531.5 million domestically in its first 18 days

Film Review: ‘Insidious: The Last Key’

Film Review: ‘Insidious: The Last Key’
Director James Wan and screenwriter Leigh Whannell did quite a lot of things right in 2010’s shamelessly entertaining paranormal thriller, “Insidious.” But as far as franchise-building goes, they made one crucial error: killing off the film’s most memorable character, the unflappably empathetic sexagenarian parapsychologist Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye). For the first sequel, “Chapter 2,” they brought her back in spectral form, and for 2015’s Whannell-directed “Chapter 3,” they made even more room for her by approaching the film as a prequel. A direct sequel to that prequel, “Insidious: The Last Key” finally gives Elise the complete spotlight, and in doing so turns her into something of an action hero, complete with an origin story. Despite the indomitable Shaye’s best efforts, however, new director Adam Robitel is rarely successful in shaking the cobwebs off this increasingly creaky franchise: “The Last Key” is wildly uneven, confused and confusing, and it appears to leave the “Insidious” saga written into a

Watch Some Behind-The-Scenes Footage From Insidious: The Last Key

I enjoy watching behind-the-scenes footage from films because it gives us a look at what it is like to be on the set of a film production. Today we have some very cool behind-the-scenes footage for the upcoming horror film Insidious: The Last Key.

This next film in the franchise offers new details on the mythology and centers around the parapsychologist Dr. Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) as she faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet. The haunted house that she will be dealing with in this story, is her own family home, the home that she grew up in. It doesn't look like she had the most pleasant childhood.

The film was written by Insidious co-creator Leigh Whannell (Saw). He wrote every film in the trilogy and directed Insidious: Chapter 3. The movie was produced by Insidious regulars Jason BlumOren Peli, and co-creator James Wan. This fourth film was

Insidious: The Last Key Trailer #2 Is Big on Scares

Insidious: The Last Key Trailer #2 Is Big on Scares
A new trailer for Insidious: The Last Key has arrived online ahead of the sequel's release in theaters next month. This latest trailer gives us a much better idea of what to expect from the latest chapter of the very successful Insidious franchise. We're still not sure if this movie is going to be a return-to-form, in terms of quality, but this trailer promises a ton of jump scares and a super creepy haunted house exploration in the movie.

The trailer features some of the same imagery as the first teaser for Insidious: The Last Key, but they're not nearly as shy about showing off some of the cool shots this time around. Even though James Wan, who directed the first Insidious, is only producing this movie, you can tell it has his style embedded in its DNA. It'll be tough for Insidious 4 to top the original, but this could

A Final Trailer for Horror 'Insidious: The Last Key' Opening in January

"Whistle if you can hear me." Universal has released a final 60-second trailer for horror sequel Insidious: The Last Key, also known as just Insidious 4, since this is the latest in this on-going horror franchise. It opens in early January just a few days after the New Year, so don't expect much from this sequel. Lin Shaye returns as Dr. Elise Rainier, the brilliant parapsychologist who ends up being terrorized in her own home by the demons that have been haunting houses ever since Insidious in 2010. Shaye is joined in the cast by Angus Sampson, Leigh Whannell, Josh Stewart, Caitlin Gerard, Kirk Acevedo, Javier Botet, Bruce Davison, Spencer Locke, Tessa Ferrer, Ava Kolker and Marcus Henderson. I honestly feel like this horror franchise has worn out its welcome, time to end it, so hopefully this is it once and for all. Here's the final "Big Whistle" trailer (+ poster) for Adam Robitel

Insidious: The Last Key - the new promo

Tony Sokol Simon Brew Dec 13, 2017

Insidious: The Last Key gets a new extended TV spot....

One more promo/extended TV spot/trailer has just landed for Insidious: The Last Key, that lands in cinemas in early January. It looks like this...

From September 2017

“Be careful, you’re about to touch it,” a paranormal investigator is warned in the first trailer for Insidious: The Last Key, the fourth film in the Insidious horror franchise. The mystic also has to touch on her own past as she ventures deep into the further to end the evil. She doesn’t have memories, she has scars.

Insidious co-creator Leigh Whannell, who directed Insidious: Chapter Three and wrote the screenplays for the previous three movies in the franchise, wrote the script this time, too. Insidious: The Last Key is directed by Adam Robitel (The Taking of Deborah Logan), who is new to the series.

First Trailers For Insidious: The Last Key Unlock A Nerve-Shredding Sequel

Horror comes home in the creepy first trailers for Insidious: The Last Key.

Featuring a somber narration from Lin Shaye’s series mainstay, Dr. Elise Rainier, today’s first-look promo dials the terror up to 11 when a curious young woman comes face-to-face with a supernatural entity. So far, so familiar.

But where The Last Key sets itself apart is in its personnel behind the scenes. Case in point: Although Insidious co-creator Leigh Whannell penned the screenplay, Blumhouse and Universal Pictures tapped relative newcomer Adam Robitel (The Taking of Deborah Logan) to direct, and the result is a horror sequel that is decidedly different from its next of kin. Visually, at least.

It’s a wise move for a franchise that was beginning to falter at the box office – Insidious 2 scored a commendable $162 million worldwide, while Chapter 3 struggled to muster anything more than $112m – so here’s hoping Chapter

Insidious 4 Trailer Unlocks New Terror with The Last Key
That was quick. Just yesterday we heard that the first teaser trailer for Insidious: Chapter 4 was coming soon. Now, it is here in the early morning hours to terrorize those just trying to shake themselves awake with a first cup of coffee. Don't worry, honey, that screaming you hear coming from the kitchen is just Dad trying to catch up on his social media before work. And boy, when you see the opening moments of this sneak peek, you will definitely want to run and hide. It's truly disturbing in only the way an Insidious movie knows how to be.

In yesterday's report, it was noted that this trailer would be just 60 seconds long. That's not actually the case. This is a full-length trailer, and it's pretty scary. What yesterday's report did get right is the title. Insidious: Chapter 4 is definitely called The Last Key, hinting that this

Creepy Fun Trailer For Insidious: The Last Key! Dr. Elise Rainier Will Confront Her Nightmarish Past

"To end this evil, I need to go deep into the further."

The first trailer has been released for Insidious: The Last Key! This is the fourth film in the Insidious horror movie franchise and it looks really good! I'm a big fan of this franchise and I like the direction that they are taking this latest film.

The story centers around the brilliant parapsychologist Dr. Elise Rainier (Lin Shaye) as she faces her most fearsome and personal haunting yet. The haunted house that she will be dealing with in this story, is her own family home, the home that she grew up in. And let's just say life growing up in that home was a terrifying experience.

As the story plays out during their investigation we learn about the early life of Elise before she became a parapsychologist. Her experiences in this home are obviously the reason that she does what she does.
