He started on When Calls the Heart and has starred in numerous Hallmark films, and now Marcus Rosner has become of of Hallmark Media's leading men.
He already starred in one Hallmark holiday film this season, Flipping for Christmas, and is starring in another December 14 on Hallmark Movies Now called An Ice Palace Romance.
As a Michigan native, the film is relatabel. As a figure skating fan, it's easy to understand how an ice arena is such a staple of a small Michigan town. Marcus Rosner and Celeste Desjardins have a natural chemistry, and it's fun to see their skating skills on the ice.
It's surprising TV Fanatic hadn’t talked to Rosner before, and it was a delightful conversation as he previewed the movie, discussed his sadness over Ride’s cancellation, and spoke about his future projects.

Hallmark’s new family drama finished its first season run, and it was a season full of ups and downs.
Ride Season 1 delivered dramatic television due to emotional storylines, character arcs, and dynamic relationships.
While the series quickly became a favorite, it still had some flaws, and in our report card, we examine some of its strengths and how it can improve if it gets a Season 2.
Best Episode: Ride Season 1 Episode 9, "Truths Laid Bare"
While several episodes showcased the theme of family and unconditional love, none featured it better than “Truths Laid Bare.”
After her mom died, Valeria felt unsafe at home, and Isabel and the rest of the McMurrays provided her with a safety net.
Learning the truth about Valeria was just the beginning.
The McMurrays were shocked to learn that Austin had a gambling problem and that Tucker blackmailed him into throwing races right before he died.
Ride Season 1 delivered dramatic television due to emotional storylines, character arcs, and dynamic relationships.
While the series quickly became a favorite, it still had some flaws, and in our report card, we examine some of its strengths and how it can improve if it gets a Season 2.

Ride continually shows that a family's love is unconditional, and on Ride Season 1 Episode 9, when Valeria confessed everything about her past, the McMurrays still accepted her, unlike her father and his wife.
Valeria had been running for so long and had difficulty trusting anyone.
Even though Austin was the oldest McMurray sibling, he doubted his family's love too and also got into deep trouble, and he only trusted Valeria to help him.
After Grace Booker recognized her, Valeria knew she only had a limited time before her father found her. Even though Valeria usually acts strong, she's still afraid of her father.
Something about her father made her feel like a scared teenager again.
Valeria felt like she lost everything when her mom died. Her dad couldn't wait to ship her off to a farm school instead of helping her grieve her mother.
Teenagers should feel safe and secure, not...

Here are 10 other actors even some dedicated Hearties may have forgotten appeared on When Calls the Heart.

With the first season of Ride well underway on Hallmark Channel, why not get to know the family at the heart of it a bit better? TV Insider sat down with Nancy Travis (Isabel McMurray), Beau Mirchoff (Cash McMurray), and Tiera Skovbye (Missy McMurray). Their characters are part of a small-town family keeping their ranch afloat and their place in the rodeo alive following the death of Marcus Rosner’s Austin. And so we decided to see which character is “most likely to…” to find out more. It wasn’t quite that easy for them to determine who’s most likely to sacrifice it all for family, since that’s something so important to all of them. “Family’s definitely the brass ring of this show. And it’s not just the people you’re related to. It’s the family of the community,” Travis says. That being said, would...

TV’s latest family dynasty show is on the Hallmark Channel, and it’s not exactly like others out there: These characters won’t be stabbing each other in the back so fast or easily. Ride follows the McMurrays, a small-town ranching family. Nancy Travis plays matriarch Isabel, who, after losing her husband, has kept the ranch afloat and raised their sons. After one (Marcus Rosner’s Austin) dies in a rodeo accident, Tiera Skovbye’s Missy is left a widow, and she and Isabel work together to keep things going — and help as Isabel’s son Cash (Beau Mirchoff) steps into Austin’s shoes. Complicating matters? What may or may not be brewing between Missy and Cash. When TV Insider asked Travis, Mirchoff, and Skovbye on which other family dynasty shows their characters would fare best and worst on, it was much easier for them to choose the latter.

Spoiler Alert! This story reveals plot point from the March 26 series premiere of Ride on Hallmark.
It takes place on a bucolic but cash-strapped ranch that’s operated by a widowed parent who loses a beloved family member in the premiere episode — all while everyone looks straight-up sexy in their Wranglers and cowboy boots.
But that’s where the similarities to Yellowstone end for Hallmark’s Ride, insists Sherri Cooper-Landsman, who showruns the new drama about a rodeo dynasty with Rebecca Boss and Chris Masi (Our Kind of People).
“For me, it was just this beautiful ranch setting with a family going through stuff that a family goes through,” Cooper-Landsman tells Deadline of Ride. “And to be honest, I hadn’t even watched Yellowstone, so I did not even think about that. It just was this beautiful setting and a worlds that Becky [Rebecca] really knew so well.

Death, deception and forbidden romance, right out of the gate? Hallmark Channel’s new rodeo drama Ride quickly ropes you in, so hold on to your horses! Like a Yellowstone with kinder locals and way less cussin’, this addictive tale centers on a Colorado ranching dynasty with deep roots in the rodeo circuit and close ties that bind them to their bustling stomping grounds. Co-creators and showrunners Rebecca Boss and husband Chris Masi had long been nursing an idea for a series that would capture their rural upbringings. While the couple worked on Fox’s glitzier Star and Our Kind of People, “[We] really wanted to write a show about families, for families,” affirms Boss. (Credit: Hallmark) And what a brood they’ve hitched their wagon to. The McMurrays read like the first family of fictional Canyon, Colorado. Eldest son Austin (Marcus Rosner) is a rodeo champion wed to former trick...

The title of Rose Troche’s film, “My Fake Boyfriend,” may be clunky, but it captures the outrageous premise of this latest gay romantic comedy. When stuntman Andrew is stuck in a toxic relationship with a self-absorbed narcissist, his best friend Jake and his girlfriend Kelly (Dylan Sprouse and Sarah Hyland) decide the only way to break the cycle is with a white lie: the creation of a new (fake!) online boyfriend. Hijinks and an Irl romance ensue in a film that, no matter its contemporary setting, feels like a throwback to an earlier era of Drew/Sandra/Julia-led vehicles. For better and for worse.

Premiering Saturday, May 21, the movie tells the sweet love story of two emotionally closed-off people who, through the help of an adorable rescue dog named Sam, learn to open up. Ahead of the premiere, Brooks (When Calls the Heart) and Rosner (Christmas with a Crown) chatted with TV Insider about their latest foray into Hallmark love stories, sharing how the rescue dog aspect set it apart from their other Hallmark projects. Brooks’ Kyra is a “Pretty bold, type-a personality. She’s very career-oriented.” She makes all of her choices based on a strict life plan that includes being hired as a shopper for a grocery store and finding the perfect partner. But with so much rigidity in her life — put in place because of difficult family experiences — Kyra’s romantic plan doesn’t truly involve much romance.
