Caitlin's journey in the film industry began during her teenage years in her hometown of Vancouver, BC. She was introduced to her first film set as a background actor and through a family friend who was a script supervisor. Caitlin nurtured her passion for filmmaking in her high school's film production classes and during summer breaks, she dedicated herself to honing her skills, attending programs like the Gulf Island Film and Television School and the Summer Visions Institute for Youth.
While pursuing her liberal arts and sciences degree at Quest University Canada, Caitlin didn't let go of her love for acting and creating short films. At age 20, she was cast as "Kim" in the movie "Breaking Dawn pt.1" from the Twilight Saga.
Upon graduating, Caitlin continued to work with video content as the Marketing Coordinator at the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish; creating social media video content and coordinating photo and commercial shoots. At the same time, Caitlin began assisting on commercial shoots produced by Topo Films and collaborated with her Co-Producer, Erica Sorensen, to produce numerous commercial and video shorts. The two produced a season of sketch comedy shorts, entered in the Whistler 72-hour Film Festival and submitted a documentary pitch to Telus Storyhive in 2017/18.
In 2019, Caitlin moved to Victoria, BC and began working in film in the fall of 2020, on John Wells and Molly Smith Metzler's, "MAID" (Netflix TV, 2021). In 2021, Caitlin began working as a Director's Assistant on the Netflix feature, Rescued by Ruby, featuring Grant Gustin and based on the true story of K9 Search and Rescue team, Daniel O'Neil and Ruby. In 2022, Caitlin finished second place in the CineCentral 48 hour film challenge.
Caitlin is passionate about comedy that connects us, science fiction, and documentary films that explore humanity and nature. Caitlin is excited to continue learning more about directing and producing and is starting to build a local indie film crew in Victoria, BC.
