Oliver is a writer for film and television with a number of projects at various stages of development. His interests lie in character driven and thought provoking drama for television and films that blur the boundaries of genre.
Having graduated in 2008 from Goldsmiths with a degree that specialised in screenwriting, Oliver co-founded a film collective, Silent Shout Studios. The collective worked together across music video, commercial and short film production whilst Oliver was also working as a teacher. The short films garnered critical acclaim as they played at national and international festivals.
In 2015, Oliver had a shortlisted project on Film London's Microwave fund and in 2017 had two projects selected for Goldfinch Studios' First Flights Initiative. In 2018, Oliver took part in Film London's Production Finance Market with an elevated horror feature. Also in 2018, Oliver was commissioned for an original drama series at the BBC by Liz Kilgarriff.
Oliver is currently working on developing original dramas and comedy dramas for TV and film with independent film companies and producers. Most recently, Oliver has been accepted onto the BAFTA Crew x BFI Network programme for 2021 and in 2022 was selected for the initial BAFTA Connect cohort.
