David Wendefilm
- Actor
David Wendefilm is an Austrian actor known for his work across Europe and South America. He has appeared in international productions in multiple languages.
After leaving school early, he worked as a salesman, waiter, computer technician, and trainer for IT and soft skills, before studying philosophy and art history at the University of Vienna.
His first on-camera appearance as a commercial model in Brazil sparked a passion for performance. Back in Vienna, he created the provocative happening "Nackt für eine bessere Gesellschaft" ("Naked for a Better Society") and soon transitioned into acting, landing his first roles in film and television. Rejecting the confines of academia, he famously disrupted a lecture to burn his diploma in front of a live audience during his second performance, "Das kleine philosophische Manifest" ("The Small Philosophical Manifesto").
Driven by a desire to build an international career, David relocated to São Paulo, where he successfully established himself in theater, film, and television, working for HBO, Amazon Prime, Netflix, and other major networks. Since 2023, he is back in Vienna, continuing his artistic journey.
