Jose Carlos Gorritti was born in Lima, Peru in 1985. At a very young
age, he started a relationship with music, the day he received a drum
set from his parents as a christmas present.
His happiness was as great as that of his neighbors the day his family moved out.
At age 12, music became a little more serious commitment, when he joined the music band of the school to learn and play trumpet, euphonium and trombone, progressively for 5 years.
Nevertheless, his hearing was much greater than his performance and he attended the career of Sound Engineering at the Orson Welles Institute of technology.
After a long period of marriage (with music), in where he got involved in the school music band, a few rock bands, a diploma in music theory, a latin american folk music group, 2 polyphonic choirs as a baritenor and a couple of music albums as a sound engineer...
(...and several musical instruments learned)...
... he couldn't hide it anymore.
He had been flirting with filmmaking for a long period of time and the secret was discovered. A new love was already in his heart and for he was now a sound student, he started learning the Art of Film Sound.
Musicians and neighbors applauded.
Filmmakers kept quiet, respectfully.
After a few years working in broadcasting, films and media in his native country, he received a call and moved to the United States where is now building his career as a Freelance Film Sound Artist. NY City / NJ based.
