Nicole Delprado

- Writer
- Second Unit Director or Assistant Director
Nicole is a Writer, Producer, and Director with a passion for comedy, mystery and sci-fi. In 2019 she was selected as one of Screen Producers Australia's 'Ones to Watch'.
Nicole is a grant recipient of the Create NSW Screenability filmmakers fund. She wrote and directed the short film 'Magnetic' which was executive produced by Matchbox Pictures and premiered at Sydney Film Festival 2019 as well as exhibiting at the Arts Activated Conference and the Museum of Contemporary Art. The film is based on her personal experience as a neurodiverse creative and she hopes to develop it into a feature film.
As well as writing and directing multiple episodes, she is the Series Producer of the internationally recognised and award-winning digital comedy series 'Sydney Sleuthers', funded by LA based company Filmaka. In late 2018, Nicole was the winner of the Create NSW & Screenworks Go Viral competition with the dystopian comedy 'Fempocalypse'.
Prior to this, she had two separate TV pilot scripts listed as semi-finalists in the 2019 BlueCat Screenplay Competition and her recent achievements include being shortlisted for the ABC DisRupted Initiative, semi-finalist in the Fade In Awards and longlisted for the Australian Writers' Guild John Hinde Award for Excellence in Science Fiction writing.
Nicole is a disability advocate who champions diverse representation in all her projects, particularly from early development. Her quirks include being an accredited gymnastics coach, as well as having a slight obsession with women in comedy and being a self-confessed sci-fi nerd.
