Mini Bio (1)

John Guthrie is an American and New Zealand-based ATVAS-award winning writer/producer, fine artist, author and inventor.

His production experience ranges from multi-screen 35mm slide shows (Kodak's best attended)... to the development in 2019 of a patent-pending technology he calls "Neural resonance holography." Other interesting work: interactive videodisc (SONY North America's first)... to classified military production (mostly fire control simulation: ranging from tactical naval nuclear weapon release/control to satellite-networked armor combat, running "red/blue teams" on simulators located on two continents). The 1979 television documentary "A Void Home" produced and directed by Guthrie was the first-ever to describe human settlement in the solar system (something which his 2018 science fiction work now extends to Martian technology...see the sample video showing a woman's mouth).

As an inventor, John's work spans decades. In 1979 he filed the Laser Radio trademark in California for a Youtube-like, audio/video "jukebox." The universal upload/download Laser Radio would be powered by transactional modeling: offsetting viewer consumption debits with the revenue credits from their own downloaded productions (creating a fully interactive economy and social relationship between consumer and producer). In 2001, that interest in micro economic modeling led Guthrie to define "Molecular Economics Technology" which was published by the University of Amsterdam Center for Non-linear dynamics in Economics and Finance (the paper was downloaded for 10 months by two Chinese universities and the Ministry of Commerce). In 1979, the same year he created the Laser Radio project, Guthrie defined holographic edit theory at the University of Southern California (using Gestalt principal- not montage- to induce "meaning"). Today, Guthrie and a research staff with four PhD's is developing a technology called "Neural resonance holography" which manipulates human neural response for a variety of applications (entertainment, autonomous cars among various uses). To promote the general public's understanding of neural resonance and its potential, Guthrie is also writing a trilogy about a family that becomes transformative in a 23rd Century post-dystopian world of survivors, led by Martian and Earth-bound resonant priesthood. The family has a highly developed skill of resonating into the future they choose to occupy to their advantage. The main character's story arc ends with her giving life to a new universe in the spirit of human and Earthly goodness.

As a fine artist, Guthrie has enjoyed 250 sales from 20 galleries worldwide in three years- from California to Paris. As a musician and producer/engineer his performances have accompanied some half dozen productions. He is a published novelist ("Edge of Heaven" 2009) which predicted a Ted Cruz-like nationalist in 2016 and thermonuclear/ environmental war with China and Russia by the 2020 re-election. An earlier book on manned hypersonics in 1989 (Spaceplanes) led to a 10 month protective surveillance by FBI at CIA request of the FISA court (this according to an FBI agent, assigned to the wiretap in Connecticut).

For fun, John likes to drive Formula Renault 1.6, Formula 3 and Formula 1 (Benetton B-198 chassis with Judd V10 power). He's been known to burn Porsche brakes - literally- right down to ceramic rotors on demanding racetracks like Laguna Seca and Willow Springs. His well known Ferrari 550 was honored at Concorso Italiano in 2012. Another 550 World Speed Record example in England is one of the best examples of the rare 33-car WSR series in the world. Guthrie is a sought-after engineering test and evaluation driver for both Ferrari and Porsche. He has written about his work in cover stories for Pilota and High Gear magazines, for Ferrari and Porsche fans. "Life is short. Just drive," is his motto. His favorite place to drive is South Island of New Zealand...in relaxed harmony with nature and other drivers.

In Wyoming, Guthrie manages his family's charitable foundation, begun by his late father, Jack. John has grown the foundation's investment principal 20%, during the second worst economic downturn in U.S. history. That effort has endowed 20-30 local non profits with over $5 million since 2003.
