Michell Rivas

Michell Rivas Canal SVC is a Venezuelan cinematographer living in Barcelona. He has an extensive experience in music videos, commercial spots and short films. In 2013 he shot his first feature film «Dos de Trebol», a family comedy very well received in his home country. His special interest in Hip-Hop music videos led him to develop a cinematic camera work able to capture toughness and subtlety, ideal for a contemporary realistic aesthetics in difficult locations. His next two films «El Amparo» (Horizontes Latinos San Sebastian Film Festival 2016) and «Jasmines in Lidice» are both contemporary personal dramas that was premiere at international festivals worldwide in 2016. He was part of the cinematography section in the Berlinale Talents training program of 2016 edition of the Berlin International Film Festival.
