Charlie Williams is a documentary filmmaker, film editor, cinematographer and screenwriter from London, England living and working in New York City since 2010. He has a masters in Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh, and La Universidad de las Americas, Mexico, where he developed an interest in ethnographic filmmaking. His first documentary, 'The Guitar Is Their Song' (2011) about a unique town of guitar makers in Mexico, was nominated for Best Documentary at the New York City International Film Festival. His work as Film Editor on multi award winning narrative feature film 'Bag Boy Lover Boy' was recognised by publications including The Hollywood Reporter, Indiewire, and Popoptiq. His work as Film Editor and Screenwriter on narrative feature 'Indiana', received widespread critical acclaim at the Sitges Film Festival in Spain, and won awards at the Jim Thorpe International Film Festival in the US. Charlie's recent documentary - 'Front Stage & Back' - is a tragic comedic character study following prolific yet unknown New York actor, Theodore Bouloukos. The film received a nomination for Best Documentary at the New York City Independent Film Festival in June, 2022.
