Ubisoft's The Division Video Game Movie Lands Deadpool 2 Director

Ubisoft's The Division Video Game Movie Lands Deadpool 2 Director
Deadpool 2 director David Leitch has lined up another high-profile project. Ubisoft has tapped the stunt-coordinator-turned-director to helm their upcoming adaptation of the hit video game The Division. The project has been in development since 2016 with the gaming company, but it looks like things are heating up and getting serious, as they now have an accomplished director and two big-name stars attached to bring the Tom Clancy-branded video game to life on the big screen.

Previously, Gold director Stephen Gaghan was attached to helm The Division, but he's since departed. Jake Gyllenhaal, who recently confirmed he won't be taking over as Batman in the Dceu, and Jessica Chastain, who is signed on to play the older version of Beverly in It 2, are both attached to star in the video game adaptation. Gyllenhaal will also be producing the movie, alongside Gerard Guillemot, who is producing for Ubisoft Motion Pictures. While

Deadpool 2 helmer David Leitch to direct Jake Gyllenhaal in The Division

Back in June 2016 it was announced that Jake Gyllenhaal had signed on to produce and star in an adaptation of Ubisoft’s hit video game Tom Clancy’s The Division, and now comes word that the project has found a director.

Variety is reporting that David Leitch – co-director of John Wick, and director on the upcoming superhero sequel Deadpool 2 – is set to take the reins of the video game adaptation. However, fans may still have a while to wait, as Leitch also recently signed on to direct the Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw, which is set to go into production this year.

The Division, which also has Jessica Chastain attached to co-star with Gyllenhaal, takes place in a near future where a pandemic virus has decimated New York City and killing millions. By Christmas, what’s left of society has descended into chaos. A group of civilians,

David Leitch Levels On Deadpool 2 And Its Ties To The X-Men Universe

David Leitch is a filmmaker in demand.

After molding John Wick into a modern action classic – a feat accomplished alongside co-director Chad Stahelski – Leitch immersed himself in the world of blockbuster violence for Atomic Blonde and the soon-to-be-released Deadpool 2. And things are just getting started.

As we learned just yesterday, David Leitch has been tasked with helming Ubisoft’s big-screen adaptation of The Division, the post-pandemic shooter set in a ravaged Big Apple, while there’s also that Hobbs and Shaw spinoff movie that is poised to steer Fast and Furious into uncharted territory – much to the dismay of Vin Diesel and Tyrese Gibson, if you believe everything you read online.

However, closer to home, the prolific filmmaker is firmly focused on Deadpool 2, the R-rated sequel that looks to be every bit as hilarious and gut-wrenchingly violent as the first film. Not that we would have it any other way.

Deadpool 2 Director David Leitch To Direct The Division with Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal

Deadpool 2 and John Wick director David Leitch has been lining up the film projects! It was just announced that he would be directing the Fast and Furious spinoff film with Hobbs and Shaw. Now it has been announced that he will direct the big screen adaptation of Ubisoft's hit video game The Division!

According to Variety, he will actually shoot The Division before he shoots the Hobbs and Shaw film. Apparently, the film is already set to go into production this fall, with the goal to release it sometime in 2019. Stephen Gaghan was originally attached to direct the film, but things obviously didn't work out.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Jessica Chastain have been set to star in the film project since its conception and they have been "persistent in making sure that it matches the tone of the video game, while also reaching audiences who appreciate the actors’ own past work.

‘Deadpool 2’ Director David Leitch Taking Over ‘The Division’ Starring Chastain and Gyllenhaal

David Leitch is becoming one of the busiest filmmakers in town. After first making an impact as a stunt coordinator and second unit director on films like The Bourne Ultimatum and Captain America: Civil War, Leitch made the move to co-director on 2014’s John Wick. He was subsequently tapped to take the helm of Deadpool 2 solo while also directing the Charlize Theron actioner Atomic Blonde, and now Ubisoft has tapped Leitch to helm their highly anticipated The Division movie based on the video game of the same name. Tom Clancy’s The Division was released on game …

Final Trailer For Deadpool 2 Assembles The X-Force

“So dark! Are you sure you’re not from the DC Universe?”

Because you never get a third chance to make a second impression, 20th Century Fox has unleashed the new and indeed final trailer for Deadpool 2, and it’s every bit as cheeky and violent as you’d expect.

Headed up by director David Leitch, whose past credits include John Wick and the super-stylish Cold War cocktail that is Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2 is a supercharged sequel with bite, no thanks to the addition of Infinity War‘s Josh Brolin as Cable, the futuristic freedom fighter who’s returned to our current timeline in search of Julian Dennison’s kid mutant, who may well be responsible for some future atrocity in the X-Men universe.

Couple this with the fact that Fox has purportedly mapped out a four-film arc for Cable and it seems likely that both Brolin and

‘Accident Man’ DVD Review

Stars: Scott Adkins, Ray Stevenson, Michael Jai White, Ray Park, Ashley Greene, David Paymer, Nick Moran, Tim Man, Ross O’Hennessy | Written by Scott Adkins, Stu Small | Directed by Jesse V. Johnson

Not all comic-book movies have to be about superheroes… or heroes at all for that matter. Case in point: Accident Man. Originally debuting in a series of comic strips in the 90s UK comic Toxic!, Accident Man was created by Pat Mills and Tony Skinner – two legends of the UK comics scene who, beside this character, penned stories or Judge Dredd and ABC Warriors. In fact Mills is one of creators of 2000Ad, a British institution that has already seen success outside of the comics realm, with numerous video games based on characters within its pages and not one but two Judge Dredd movies!

For those not familiar with the Mills and Skinner creation, Mike Fallon is a hitman,

First Look at Denzel Washington in Equalizer 2, Trailer Coming Tomorrow

First Look at Denzel Washington in Equalizer 2, Trailer Coming Tomorrow
The first poster and images of Denzel Washington in The Equalizer 2 have arrived online. This marks our first real look at the upcoming sequel ahead of the debut of the movie's first teaser trailer, which will be released tomorrow. This is also the first time that Washington, one of the most accomplished and respected actors working today, has ever done a sequel to a movie in his long, illustrious career. So that in itself makes this something of an important-ish movie, even if it is just a sequel to a better-than-average action movie.

The Equalizer 2 sees director Antoine Fuqua back at the helm as well. This also marks the first time that the filmmaker has made a sequel in his career. Little has been revealed about the movie up to this point, and the first poster takes something of a minimalist, but stylish approach. So that doesn't give

Speaking to Empire Magazine (via Screen Rant), Brolin, who is also playing Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War, said: “We think about it in four movie terms. We tried to think of Cable as a full arc, not just in this movie, but in the trajectory of four films. That made it a lot more fun for me. I don’t like the idea of a franchise, personally, That’s what makes the Thanos thing really great. It’s a finite thing,
