At the age of five, Marla Seidell made her stage debut in community theatre and fell in love with the art of performing. Growing up outside Chicago, Illinois, theatre helped cure childhood shyness, and in high school it became an outlet for creativity.
Marla graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a bachelor's degree in History and English from Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York. In Chicago, she received intense Shakespeare training with Susan Hart and extensive comedy training with Annoyance Theater, ComedySportz and The Comedy Clubhouse. She has studied with Amy Lyndon and Margie Haber Studio.
Marla was nominated for playing dual female/male roles in the award-winning comedy Be Your Wo/Man; she won Best Actress for her supporting role in the improvisational comedy Private Screening; she can be seen in the upcoming feature films Derange, Never Stop Talking, Cancel This Movie and The Dream Ledger.
Her latest venture is producing a documentary on Chicago history, Holy Ground, coming in 2023.
