Hossam Elouan

Hossam is a film scholar, a screenwriter, documentary researcher, independent film producer, and adjunct faculty at the American University in Cairo (2008-2014). He earned an M.A. in Cinema Studies from San Francisco State University with a focus on Arab, World Cinema, and Documentary Film Theory. In 2006, he was selected by The Fulbright Commission as a Fulbright specialist on Middle Eastern cinema, and taught Middle Eastern Cinema at Mount St. Mary's University in Maryland.
Hossam Elouan founded his company "Transit Films" to be an independent film production house. Transit Films focuses on fresh and new talent who can become a source of innovation both for the film industry as well as for alternative and marginal cinemas in Egypt.
Hossam Elouan is also recognized as a film educator. He taught film history and theory at the American University in Cairo (2008-2014), Middle Eastern Cinema at Mount St. Mary's University (2006).He was a visitor scholar at UCLA (2003), and UC Davis (2004). He was also appointed as as a Fulbright Fellow in the years 2003-2004-2005.
