Nick Offerman and Kiersey Clemons Jam Out in First Trailer for ‘Hearts Beat Loud’

With only a few features under his belt, Brett Haley has become a mainstay at Sundance Film Festival with his warm-hearted dramedies, showing other filmmakers how to pull off such crowdpleasers with ease. His latest feature, Hearts Beat Loud, stars Nick Offerman and Kiersey Clemons as a father and daughter who connect over a mutual love for music. Ahead of a summer release, the first trailer has now arrived.

Hearts Beat Loud is a film made of optimism,” Dan Mecca said in his review. “Set and shot in Red Hook, Brooklyn, this film is often slight but always welcoming. The two leads have a pleasant chemistry that elevates each exchange and build out a meaningful–and meaningfully deep–relationship that’s easy to engage with and root for.”

Also starring Ted Danson, Sasha Lane, Blythe Danner, and Toni Collette, see the trailer and poster below.

Trailer for “Hearts Beat Loud” showcases another crowd pleaser from Brett Haley

Under the radar, filmmaker Brett Haley has been doing something rather impressive. Haley has been making independent films that people actually go to see in theaters. With the one two punch of I’ll See You In My Dreams and The Hero over the last few years, the director has made movies about older characters that audiences seek out. They’re crowd pleasing indies that shoot their lead actors or actresses into the awards conversation. That used to be a thing plenty of auteurs did, but these days it’s fairly rare. Now, Haley is back again with a slightly younger skewing film, and a musical one at that. Hearts Beat Loud made a lot of noise at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year and now has a Trailer to increase the buzz. You can see that at the bottom of the post, but first, some more on the movie.

See Nick Offerman's Dad-Daughter Band in 'Hearts Beat Loud' Trailer
When a teenager is considering medical school, there probably aren't too many parents who would encourage them to stay home and form a band with them instead, but that's just what Nick Offerman's character does in the new trailer for Hearts Beat Loud.

Offerman plays Frank, a single dad who is struggling to keep his Brooklyn record store afloat while grappling with the fact that his daughter Sam (Kiersey Clemons) is about to head off to college at UCLA. The pair holds weekly jam sessions, which Frank wants to turn into a legitimate band,

In a last bid to get his life back together, Frank decides to turn his weekly jam sessions with his daughter Sam (Kiersey Clemons) into an actual musical group — just like he used to with his wife.

Kiersey Clemons & Nick Offerman in First Trailer for 'Hearts Beat Loud'

"This is so good...! You wrote this?" "Yeah, with my dad." Gunpowder & Sky has released the first official trailer for the heartwarming, lovely indie film Hearts Beat Loud, which premiered to some rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. I adore this film, it was one of my favorites of the fest - check out my full review here. Set in Red Hook, Brooklyn, the film is about a father and daughter who become an unlikely songwriting duo in the last summer before she leaves for college. Nick Offerman and Kiersey Clemons star, along with Ted Danson, Toni Collette, Sasha Lane, and Blythe Danner. With original songs and music by Keegan DeWitt, which you can hear a bit of in this trailer. Really, this film is stellar and I hope it gets your attention with this trailer. It is a feel good story, but just the right amount of sweet.

‘Hearts Beat Loud’ Trailer: Nick Offerman and Kiersey Clemons Form a Band

Gunpowder & Sky has released the first Hearts Beat Loud trailer. The film follows Frank (Nick Offerman) and his daughter Sam (Kiersey Clemons) as they form a band and inadvertently create a hit song the summer before she’s about to head off to college. I caught the film at Sundance earlier this year, and in my review, I said: Hearts Beat Loud isn’t really interested in challenging its audience as much as it’s just trying to tell a nice dramedy, which is a respectable goal. Not every movie has to rock the audience to their core or …

‘Hearts Beat Loud’ Trailer: Nick Offerman and Kiersey Clemons Form the World’s Cutest Father-Daughter Band

‘Hearts Beat Loud’ Trailer: Nick Offerman and Kiersey Clemons Form the World’s Cutest Father-Daughter Band
Filmmaker Brett Haley has a thing for the underdog, a theme and topic he’s explored with grace and honesty throughout all of his films. The filmmaker has been prolific over the past three years, churning out back-to-back low-key charmers “The Hero” and “I’ll See You in My Dreams,” before turning his attention to his latest, the amiable music dramedy “Hearts Beat Loud.”

The film debuted at Sundance back in January, and is now primed for a summer release. This time around, Haley is edging a little younger than his previous offerings, as the film stars “Dope” breakout Kiersey Clemons and perennial favorite Nick Offerman as a Brooklyn father and daughter who undertake an unexpected musical endeavor. “We are not a band,” Clemons’ Sam tells her dad, which he then cleverly uses as, well, their band name. Soon, the pair’s not-quite band is getting some serious attention, which

SXSW 2018 Interview: Nick Offerman and Brett Haley on Hearts Beat Loud

In Brett Haley's Hearts Beat Loud, Nick Offerman plays Frank Fisher, a record store proprietor coming to terms with an end of days. Professionally he's reckoning with the growth, or perhaps decline, of an industry that isn't leaving much room for the ancient ways of music peddling. In an era when music is growing evermore invisible, Frank is as old as many of the classics he peddles. The times are a changing and Frank has grown tired of swimming. Considering he’s simultaneously battling the deflating feeling that comes with sending one's child away to college, there isn't much left from the old days to keep him engaged in the day to day of a once fulfilling life. Frank's daughter Sam, wonderfully played by Kiersey Clemons,...

Hearts Beat Loud Review: The Feel Good Movie We Need Right Now

Hearts Beat Loud Review: The Feel Good Movie We Need Right Now
Nick Offerman delivers a terrific performance in Hearts Beat Loud, which could be the feel-good movie of the year. &#8232It can seem like there's an awful lot of bleakness in the world these days, if that's what one wants to focus on. And that being the case, many movies being released, even ones with ultimately optimistic messages, can focus a lot on doom and gloom. Every once in a while, we just need a movie that makes you feel good. Hearts Beat Loud is that movie. And this isn't just feel good for the sake of feeling good. This music-driven flick is a showcase of talent that centers on incredibly relatable emotion, all wrapped up inside an unapologetic, unabashedly feel-good movie that the world could really use right now.

Hearts Beat Loud takes place In Red Hook, Brooklyn, and centers on a father named Frank (Nick Offerman) and daughter, Sam

Zack Snyder Shares Photos Of Justice League’s Deleted Scenes

While fans are still waiting for that fabled Zack Snyder cut of Justice League, the man himself has alleviated the tension somewhat by sharing a few photos on his Vero account that hint at some of the deleted scenes from his version of the DC team-up movie that we never got to see.

First up, one image has Diane Lane’s Martha Kent and Amy Adam’s Lois Lane sharing a heart-to-heart at the ol’ Kent farm. It’s likely this was Snyder’s version of a similar scene which Joss Whedon directed for the theatrical cut, which took place in the Daily Planet. We’re guessing Snyder’s version didn’t feature a line about Lois being “the thirstiest woman” Clark ever knew, though.

Another pic features Ezra Miller geeking it up as Barry Allen, wearing an outfit that we never actually saw in the final version of Justice League.
