North Carolina indie author and filmmaker, Michael G. Plumides, Jr, is developing his intellectual properties in the world of film, publishing, and gaming entertainment with edgy and original titles such as: The Tormented Sea, Ultra Galactic Danger Force, Faces of Professor Gates, and Fractured State. The first of slated upcoming projects is the film Ghost Trek, a darkly comedic-horror film (also an upcoming comic) to be shot in the Winter/Spring of 2020. Plumides is currently working on a graphic novel entitled, Nocturnity, a Clive Barker-influenced multi-platform property with artist Lee Kohse (Lucasfilm).

Plumides' entertainment career began in music as a college radio deejay and Promotions Director at the award-winning, WUSC-FM in Columbia, SC, where he interviewed Dave Mustaine of Megadeth and Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead. Plumides then went into concert promotion, owning the legendary 4808 Club in Charlotte, NC. He hosted rock acts such as Danzig, Widespread Panic, The Black Crowes, Bad Brains, Soundgarden, Social Distortion, Corrosion of Conformity, and GWAR. He then went into real estate, owning retail commercial properties, with tenants Badcock Furniture, Arby's, and Maxway.

But Plumides yearned to become a serious writer. In 2009, he wrote Kill the Music, a memoir describing his experiences in college radio and concert promotion during the moral hysteria of the late eighties at the pinnacle of the Parent Music Resource Center. Kill the Music received rave reviews through the Southeast and Plumides was voted "Best Writer of 2010" by Charlotte Magazine. Kill the Music will be the second film on his slate. Plumides also wrote for Raleigh's once lauded Blurt Magazine, covering events in the Southeast, and has reviewed performances by The Flaming Lips, Phantogram, Weezer, Elvis Costello, Alice in Chains, Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Slayer, Jack White, Clutch, and Wolfmother.

By 2011, Plumides had produced a proof-of-concept short film that he created, wrote, and co-directed entitled, Ghost Trek: The Kinsey Report, which won "Best Comedy" at Fright Night Film Fest and an Addy Award in 2011, also "Viewer's Choice" at Charlotte's Mad Monster Party horror convention in 2012. Plumides will direct and produce the feature film, Ghost Trek, his first slated production to be funded slated for early 2019. The project is described by director, David Bruckner, (The Ritual, VHS) as "Super-fun".

Michael has been a Creative Consultant for Morgan Creek Productions and works closely with President, David Robinson, spearheading the distribution agreement for Clive Barker's Nightbreed: Director's Cut - the coveted, fully-restored feature film. Due to Plumides efforts, the film became the #1 selling blu ray in "Horror" on Amazon in 2014, also a favorite on Netflix and iTunes upon its release. The film won a 2015 Saturn Award for "Best Limited-Edition DVD". Plumides also created the enthusiasm to bring the Nightbreed series to television, now in development at a major cable network.

Michael G. Plumides, Jr. is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor Degree in Government and International Studies. He holds a Doctorate in Jurisprudence from John Marshall Law School in Atlanta. Plumides is also an actor and has worked in films and TV with Michael Rooker, Sam Rockwell, Hugh Jackman, and Richard Dreyfuss.
