Austin Alexander is known for playing Dennis Ray Bryant in PBS's Mercy Street (2016), Zane in Lifetime's The Preacher's Daughter (2013), and co-starring roles on AMC's TURN: Washington's Spies (2014) and National Geographic's The Long Road Home (2017). He is an actor, writer, and musician. He tends to play the bad boyfriend, the solemn but sensitive soldier, the crass cowboy, the sarcastic and witty asshole, the fun loving but troubled friend, and the stoic guy with a big heart. He started acting on stage as an eight year old, and pursued the craft into college.

He graduated with two Bachelor's degrees in Theatre and English Writing & Rhetoric from St. Edward's University. During this time, he honed his craft for stage acting, TV/Film acting & production, playwriting, directing, and screenwriting. After graduation, he completed a two-year Meisner-based acting conservatory program under the instruction of Richard Robichaux. He continues his pursuit of perfecting the craft on stage, on set, and in the classroom.

As a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist (drums, guitar, mandolin), Austin has played in multiple genres since the age of 13 including indie rock, country alt, big band jazz, folk, and others. As a writer and director, Austin has produced and directed several plays and short films. Additionally, he co-produces, writes, directs and acts in an online sketch channel called HEY! Sketch Party Collective.

Began acting at the age of 6 when his mother brought him along to a community play rehearsal she had been cast in.
Studied the Meisner technique under Richard Robichaux.
He is a published poet and author.
He has played drums in various music genres/bands including Rock, Jazz, Big Band, Swing, Latin, Alt Country, Blues, Indie Pop, Folk Rock and Metal since the age of 12.
