Biography

Carlo Carere is an actor, writer and producer known for Distant Vision, where he was directed by Francis F. Coppola.

Born and raised in Naples, Italy, he became a Captain of the Carabinieri, the Italian national law enforcement agency, heading investigations into violent crimes, mafia and domestic terrorism. By the time he left law enforcement to pursue acting and writing, he had served as a NATO Peacekeeper in Bosnia and Kosovo and had caught one of Italy's most wanted criminals who had escaped prosecution for 33 years.

Carlo moved to Rome, Italy, and was cast as a series regular on one of Italy's most successful TV shows, "Don Matteo." He worked in television, film and theater in Italy, meanwhile publishing several award-winning thriller novels. He also won dozens of screenplay contests for his original scripts - most notably, Final Draft Big Break, ScreenCraft Fellowship, ISA Fast Track, Outstanding Screenplays, Filmatic Drama, Inroads Fellowship and Story Pros - inspiring him to move to Hollywood.

Here, Francis Ford Coppola quickly cast him in a principal role in his latest live cinema project, Distant Vision. Now based in Hollywood, Carlo is working as an actor, screenwriter and producer on multiple projects.
