Luigi Porto is a film sound designer, sound mixer, composer and music producer based in New York City.
He is often head of both music and sound department on films and documentaries.
As a sound professional, he is known for specializing on adventurous, nature-based documentaries when on set and art-house films, psychological thrillers in post.
He founded the Respirano group, that consists of Respirano Sound, a boutique film sound studio with headquarters in US and Italy, and Respirano Records, record label and publishing company.
His orchestral music, that includes an opera, is performed at venues worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, Stanislavsky Theatre, La Croisette. His albums are distributed on Cineploit, Light in the Attic, Snowdonia and his own Respirano Records. He scored films selected and screened at major film festivals and plays guitar in the NY-based band Manicburg.
