Alejo was born in Buenos Aires and began his film career in 2003. At that time he also made advertising productions with large-format photography, collaborating with photographer Charlie Mainardi on car lighting.
A self-taught cinematographer, Alejo expanded his experience through experimentation and attended several cinematography courses, complemented by studies in painting and image aesthetics, which have significantly influenced his artistic vision.
As director of photography and cameraman for Rodrigo Moreno's feature film "Los delitos", he received the Best Photography award at the 2024 Sur Awards of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Argentina.
More recently, Alejo filmed the miniseries directed by Mariano Cohn, starring Luis Brandoni and Robert De Niro for Disney+. He recently collaborated with director Wang Bing on his latest documentary project filmed in Colombia.
