‘Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again’ Cast Sings in ‘Dancing Queen’ Lyric Video (Watch)

The cast of “Mamma Mia!” is back, and so is one of the film’s — and Abba’s — most recognizable songs. On Wednesday, Universal Pictures released a lyric video to “Dancing Queen” as a preview to the highly anticipated sequel, “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again.”

Pierce Brosnan, Christine Baranski, Julie Walters, Colin Firth, Dominic Cooper, and Amanda Seyfried are among the returning cast members who recorded on the track. The video features their ensemble vocals while teasing several new colorful visuals from musical numbers set to hit theaters on July 20.

“See that girl! Watch that scene!” the familiar audio rings as Seyfried skips gleefully along the island trails, followed by an animated entourage of Greek villagers in a scene that channels Meryl Streep’s energy from the original film. Seyfried will reprise her role as Sophie, now an expectant mother who is eager to learn more about her own mother’s past.

Kevin Spacey Returns: ‘Billionaire Boys Club’ Distributor Explains Why the Disgraced Actor’s New Film Is Opening This Summer
Kevin Spacey has been accused of sexual harassment and assault by numerous men, but that’s not stopping Vertical Entertainment from releasing the actor’s new film in theaters this summer. “Billionaire Boys Club,” directed by James Cox, reunites Spacey with “Baby Driver” co-star Ansel Elgort in the story of young men attempting to strike it rich by planning a Ponzi scheme. The movie was shot in 2015 and early 2016, long before the allegations against Spacey surfaced in fall 2017.

“We hope these distressing allegations pertaining to one person’s behavior — that were not publicly known when the film was made almost 2.5 years ago — do not tarnish the release,” Vertical Entertainment said in a statement to The Wrap.

“We don’t condone sexual harassment on any level and we fully support victims of it,” the indie distributor continued. “At the same time, this is neither an easy nor insensitive decision to release this film in theaters,

‘Ready Player One’s’ Tye Sheridan Freaked Out Talking ‘E.T.’ With Steven Spielberg [Interview]

Getting the lead role in a Steven Spielberg film is pretty close to getting a golden ticket. Sure, “War Horse’s” Jeremy Irvine might disagree, but for the most part, the Spielberg touch can propel an actor to another level. Look at Whoopi Goldberg in “The Color Purple” or Shia Labeouf in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” (don’t blame Spielberg for Labeouf’s choices afterward).

This Beautiful Fantastic movie review: this ordinary normal

MaryAnn’s quick take… An ostensible fairy tale of the creative life in London that tries too hard to be eccentric, while also trying too hard to be grounded and realistic. This is one of those idiosyncrasies that you really can’t have both ways. I’m “biast” (pro): I’m desperate for movies about women

I’m “biast” (con): nothing

(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto) women’s participation in this film

(learn more about this)

Bella Brown, orphan of unusual circumstance, is, we are informed, “the oddest of oddballs.” Except she’s not very odd at all. She’s a pretty normal woman with a touch of Ocd, creative aspirations that she can’t seem to bring to fruition, and an inability to get to work on time. (Those might be unusual characteristics for women onscreen, but they are entirely mundane in the real world.

Movie Review – This Beautiful Fantastic (2017)

This Beautiful Fantastic, 2017.

Directed by Simon Aboud.

Starring Jessica Brown Findlay, Jeremy Irvine, Andrew Scott, and Tom Wilkinson.

Synopsis:

Bella Brown (Jessica Brown Findlay) harbours dreams of becoming a children’s author, but first she needs to get her living arrangements sorted after being threatened by the landlord due to the state of her back garden. Things aren’t made any easier thanks to the presence of her misanthropic neighbour (Tom Wilkinson), who’s never happier than when complaining.

The most English of dramas, quintessential you might say, This Beautiful Fantastic drifts along on the charm of its leads, blowing in the wind, making little impact beyond the chinking of bone china.

Simon Aboud’s film feels like the third episode in a six-part Sunday night ITV drama, with characters dropping in-and-out of the plot in charming fashion, before exiting with little desire to see them again, or find out what their story is.
