Amy Baklini is an award-winning writer, actor, and filmmaker focused on telling stories about diverse, underdog characters beating the odds and coming into their own power. She is a graduate of UCLA's Professional Screenwriting Program and was a selected participant in the #StartWith8 Hollywood program.
Amy grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico as a competitive tennis player with hopes of receiving a scholarship. Life had other plans for her, though: In Amy's junior year, her mother lost her battle with cancer, so she made the decision to step away from athletics and attend university close to home. She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in theatre and has been working in the film industry ever since.
