Born 1981 in Munich/Germany, Moritz Mayerhofer is a director of
animated films and co-founder of the animation company 'studioNICE'
based in Berlin/Germany.
He gained international attention on festivals worldwide and a spot on the 2011 Oscar shortlist for his animated short "Urs" (2009).
Mayerhofers films also include the multi-award winning animated shorts "Father" (2012), an animated short documentary which he co-directed with an international collective of animation artists, and "AMEN!" (2012), a black-humored parable which he also produced.
He studied animation at Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg in Ludwigsburg/Germany, and Le Gobelins, Paris/France. Besides being a filmmaker he works as a jury member at international film festivals and guest lecturer at animation schools around the globe.
