Saul is a London based film composer, classical composer and screenwriter.
As a film composer, Saul has worked with directors & producers from all over the world scoring for award-winning short and feature length films. His career started with writing the music to six promotional films for Sky for The Colour of Magic feature film from the late Terry Pratchett, starring Sean Astin, Christopher Lee, Jeremy Irons & David Jason. He went on to write and produce music for more than sixty short films and documentaries as well as three feature films, working in many genres including horror/slasher, romantic comedies, martial arts, drama, fantasy and war. Territories/companies with his music include Swiss Films, Amazon, Sky (Sky Sports, Sky One, Sky Movies, Sky Arts, Sky Atlantic), Netflix, Channel 4, Seven Network (Australia) and through on-demand portals including Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Prime Music, Google, Youtube and SoundCloud.
Also a screenwriter, Saul has recently finished the drama/thriller screenplay "The North Wing", an independent feature film, set to go into pre-production in 2019/20. He has also written a six-part drama TV Series, a second feature length film and is writing his first play, as well as a suite of other projects on spec.
As a classically trained composer he studied at the London Conservatoire The Royal College of Music, gaining a scholarship under the tutorship of David McBride, Joseph Horovitz and the late Philip Cannon. During this time he won the Joan Wellor Memorial Composition Competition Prize. Compositions included a work for orchestra and solo soprano, a commission for The London Ballet School, performed at the Cochrane Theatre, London and a one hour, full-scale oratorio for orchestra, chorus and soloists, conducting most performances. Current works in 2020 include a suite for orchestra and solo soprano.
